Camberley Chess Club is open to everyone who enjoys chess—whether you're just learning or have years of experience. We welcome players of all backgrounds, skill levels, and ages from across Surrey and beyond.
We offer a welcoming space for anyone interested in chess. If you're new to the game, our members are happy to help you get started. If you're a more experienced player, you’ll find plenty of opportunities for competitive games and league matches.
Our club meets on Tuesday evenings at:
Camberley Baptist Church Hall
15 Frimley Road, Camberley, GU15 3EN
(Opposite the Sullivan Road Public Car Park)
We also host online games, so you can play from wherever you feel comfortable.
Membership is open to all. Whether you're looking for casual games, tournament play, or simply to connect with others who enjoy chess, there’s a place for you. You can even search our player database by rating or experience to find a good match.
Camberley Chess Club has been part of the community since the 1930s. Although it paused during World War II, it was revived in 1964 by two dedicated players—Gordon H Davis and C. P. Jones—and has grown ever since. We’re proud of our legacy and excited to welcome new members into our diverse and supportive chess community.
